HOMEOPATH

Sinéad Rooney BSc LCPH CKT RMANM,
Homeopathy, Chirokinetic Allergy testing and treatment.

Sinéad is an experienced homeopath, with particular knowledge of treating babies, children, pregnancy, emotional problems and allergies. However, almost any condition can be successfully treated with homeopathy. Working as a team with her colleague Meena she offers pregnancy and labour support.

She uses Chirokinetic Therapy (CKT) to identify sources of toxicity, such as foods, heavy metals, chemicals, synthetic hormones, drug and pesticide residues. Such toxins can be held deep in the system and are disruptive to our health and fertility. Once identified homeopathic remedies and energy balancing treatment can help to clear these harmful substances.

Sinéad: “I first started using homeopathy during my pregnancy, for migraines and heartburn, and again when my baby daughter had eczema. I knew little about homeopathy at the time but wanted to try it in order to avoid the steroid creams. Her skin cleared, as did her coughs and it also improved her sleep. It has been deeply satisfying to witness these results time and again in clinic.

I have since learned that health isn’t achieved by removing symptoms ie clearing eczema by whatever means necessary. Good health is only achieved by treating the cause of the symptoms and this is what homeopathy and CKT do”.

Sinéad is fully registered and insured with the Association of Natural Medicine and graduated from the College of Practical Homeopathy in London in 2000.

Homeopathy

The roots of Homeopathy can be traced to the ancient Greeks but modern day Homeopathy was brought to us by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the early 1800´s.
It works on the principle that “like cures like”. In essence, a substance that can cause a headache, can also cure a headache when used in extreme dilution. In this way the inherent natural healing abilities of the body are stimulated.

The remedies are essences of natural substances derived from plants, animal material and natural chemicals.

The initial consultation takes about an hour and a half and involves taking a complete medical and personal history. When a detailed picture of the symptoms is understood a remedy or sequence of remedies can be prescribed. CKT can be used to gain more information and to support the homeopathic treatment

Homeopathic consultations

Your first homeopathic consultation will take about an hour and a quarter. During this time you will be asked questions not only about your present complaint, but about all sorts of other aspects of your life and health, in order to get an accurate picture of you as an individual. This information is then used to select an appropriate remedy, from among the thousands available, with psychological factors, such as stress, bereavement, abuse and suppressed emotions, as well as physical features being taken into consideration. All consultations are subject to the strictest confidentiality.

Follow-up interviews of approximately 25-40 minutes duration are usually initially at 4-6 week intervals. At your third appointment your response to treatment can be discussed in relation to realistic outcome and the likely length of time needed to achieve this. This prognosis is subject to periodic review.

Chirokinetic Therapy

CKT is a totally natural and non-invasive therapy which aims to rebalance the body and provide relief and freedom from symptoms and disease.
The treatment was pioneered in 1997 by David Stevens. David discovered that the effects of allergies and intolerances could be reduced or eliminated by employing a combination of diagnostic techniques and gentle movement via the nervous system. It works by targeting imbalances and supporting and boosting the immune system.
Since then, CKT has gone from strength to strength, treating not just allergies but a wide range of conditions.

The method used is muscle testing and for this the patient lies down on a treatment couch fully clothed. The right arm is used for testing the resistance in the body in relation to its organs and systems.
Once testing is complete and a clearer picture has been established, the CKT movement (this can be likened to a flicking motion and is done by hand) is applied to the cranium. You will then rest for a short period of time to allow the treatment to take effect.
On subsequent visits, the procedure is very similar, although less time is necessary as the testing procedure is not as lengthy.
