Rebecca MercerRebecca Mercer

Rebecca qualified in 1997 at the British School of Osteopathy. She initially worked in various practices in East Anglia before heading to work in New Zealand for 2 years. She returned to Cambridge where she has practiced ever since! In New Zealand, Rebecca become heavily involved with various sports clubs and became experienced in acute pitchside injury support especially Rugby. On returning to the UK this continued with local teams at club level, particularly rugby and football.

The Beechwood Osteopaths treat a high level of sports injuries from all different fields and enjoy the challenge that they present. She then went onto lecture part time at the British School of Osteopathy for 5 years as a clinic tutor. This enabled her to work with up and coming members of the profession and be closely involved with the working technique of other osteopaths thus broadening her own osteopathic knowledge base. During this time she furthered her knowledge of ME and pregnancy related issues and now also enjoys working in those fields of osteopathic care. Her broad knowledge approach in structural, cranial and dry needling techniques works well in the integrated clinic at the Beechwood where a good team approach provides thorough patient care and effective long term solutions to patient problems and presentations.

Rebecca attends regular courses, particularly in sport injury and pregnancy related areas. She is a long term member of the Osteopathic Sports Care Association. In her spare time Rebecca enjoys keeping active including scuba diving and skiing. She also enjoys large scale DIY projects and world travel.

Rebecca is registered with BUPA, AXA PPP and all other major insurance companies. She is available Tuesday to Friday.
