Beccy Beechwood PhotoREBECCA MERCER

Rebecca qualified at the British School of Osteopathy in 1997. After initially locuming in a few osteopathic practices in East Anglia, she headed to New Zealand where she worked for 18 months.

During her time in New Zealand she locumed in practices in both the North and South Island. During this time she gained large amounts of experience in differing practice approaches and also became involved with varied sports clubs and acute sports injuries.

On returning to the UK Rebecca continued this interest by working closely with local rugby and football teams and gaining acute pitch side injury qualifications alongside general osteopathic practice.

Rebecca started work at The Beechwood Medical Practice in the late 90s alongside lecturing at the British school of Osteopathy as a clinic tutor part time. The lecturing continued for 5 years and enabled her to work with many different osteopaths and students broadening her osteopathic knowledge base and enhancing her working technique.

Alongside the high number of sports injuries she was seeing in general practice in Cambridge, she also gained an interest in ME treatment, pregnancy related issues and paediatric wellbeing.

Her broad knowledge approach in structural, cranial and dry needling techniques works well in the integrated clinic at the Beechwood Practice. The team based approach allows thorough patient care and effective long term solutions to patient problems and presentations.

Rebecca attends regular courses to keep her knowledge base updated. She has previously enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, sport and worldwide travel. She is now a busy mum of two young children and enjoys large scale DIY and renovation projects with her husband.

Rebecca is registered with AXA PPP and other major insurance companies. She is available to see patients on a Tuesday and Thursday.
