Kate trained at the Tavistock Clinic in London and qualified as a child and adolescent psychotherapist in 1994, after some years as a social worker. She has worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in London and Cambridge and has worked with a wide range of mental health difficulties in children and young people, including specialist work with Looked After children and young people, and participation in a national research study on depression in adolescents. Kate has headed up small child psychotherapy teams in Islington and Cambridge, and has offered consultation to social services teams as well as supervising child psychotherapists in training.
