DR CARRIE BAKER

Carrie is an experienced chartered clinical psychologist, who has worked with adults with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties since qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 1997.

Carrie is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She is also a member of the Compassionate Mind Foundation.

Carrie has used Cognitive Behavioural Therapy extensively, with adults of all ages and from all walks of life. She also offers Compassion Focused Therapy, which is particularly helpful for clients with high level of self-criticism. She also incorporates other psychological approaches when it is clinically appropriate, including mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Carrie worked in various NHS settings before setting up her private practice in 2012. Locally, she worked at the Psychological Treatment Service at Addenbrooke’s, and Intake and Treatment at St John’s in Peterborough. Previously she worked as the clinical psychologist to community mental health teams in Salford and Tameside in the North West, and worked in brain injury services in Hertfordshire.

Carrie works with clients with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-esteem, high levels of self-criticism, post-traumatic stress disorder, and obsessional difficulties.

Carrie enjoys helping clients to understand themselves in greater depth, so that they can make changes that will have a positive impact on their emotional and physical well-being and relationships with those around them.

Carrie is registered with Bupa, AXA-PPP, WPA and Aviva.
