Rebecca graduated with a BSc Honours degree from Hull University, and as a registered nurse in 1990. She has an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Masters degree from City University London, and is qualified as an Independent Nurse Prescriber. She is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the regulatory body for nurses & midwives  in the UK.

Rebecca has worked in NHS dermatology departments in London and Cambridge for most of her career. She was Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Whipps Cross University Hospital, London for 6 years,  running nurse led dermatology clinics.  Rebecca is currently the Dermatology Nurse Consultant at UCLH London, she established community dermatology clinics in the local PCTs, and currently runs a paediatric clinic and an adult clinic in UCLH for patients who have acne, eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.

She is involved in teaching nurses on dermatology issues. She is the secretary for the British Dermatological Nursing Group Nurse prescribing Special Interest Group. She has also written chapters in dermatology nursing textbooks.

She has worked with patients with many different dermatology conditions, but mostly with patients who have eczema, dermatitis, acne, rosacea & psoriasis. Her area of interest is in helping people to improve the skin condition through education, support and developing a treatment plan. Rebecca recognizes the need for there to be sufficient time in the appointment to assess the condition and its impact on the patient’s life so that appropriate treatment and advice can be offered.
